Mark Scott

Mark Scott specialises in dispute resolution, litigation and sports law disciplinary cases with more than 25 years of successful experience acting for private and corporate clients in the High Court, County Court, Property Chamber Land Registration First-Tier Tribunal, and in other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

Mark represents Sports Governing Bodies on regulatory matters, focusing on disciplinary disputes.  He is a Director of the Norfolk Cricket Board and Chair of its Disciplinary Appeal Panel.  He is a British Association for Sport and Law (BASL) member and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Sports Law from De Montfort University.  In 2019 he was appointed by British Canoeing, the National Governing Body for paddle sports in the UK, to its Appeals and Disciplinary Panel, where he has adjudicated on selection appeals made by athletes on the Canoe Sprint World Class Programme for the 2024 and 2028 Olympic Games.  He is a Regional Discipline Panel Member for the Norfolk County Football Association and, in 2022, was appointed by the FA to its National Serious Case Panel, which rules as a Disciplinary Commission to hear and adjudicate allegations of all types of serious disciplinary cases nationally by players, officials, and affiliated football clubs on a wide range of improper conduct.  The appointment adds further depth and experience to Hansells’ regulatory and disciplinary services.
