Chris is an Associate in our Commercial Property Department, joining Hansells in 2015. Chris has over 32 years’ experience of working in the legal sector.

Chris spent thirteen years in local government at both district and county levels dealing with common land, planning and highway law, including rights of way, and then nine years at Eversheds.  He acts for a wide range of public sector and private clients in connection with local government matters, planning, compulsory purchase, highways and related development matters. Chris has a wide knowledge and experience of promoting and objecting to planning applications

Chris also specialises in all aspects of planning, common land, highways, development work and commercial real estate matters including freehold and leasehold acquisitions and sales. Chris regularly presents seminars on topical planning issues at national conferences and has written articles for the Planning Magazine and other publications.

In addition to being a qualified solicitor Chris holds postgraduate diplomas in Local Government Law and Real Estate Law and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Law Chris is also a Legal Associate of the Royal Town Planning Institute. Outside of work Chris enjoys reading and walking and is a keen historian.
